The Pocono Mountains, also known as the "Endless Mountains", covers four counties in Pennsylvania, & this region is now often referred to as "The Honeymoon Capital of the World" or the "Land of Love". It all started in the mid-eighteen hundreds with the construction of hotels in Delaware Water Gap. Then described as the Ninth Wonder of the World. Presidents and socialites from New York came by train to relax at these "Spa resorts" and to enjoy the quiet clean Mountain air. Back then, The Poconos Were the Place to Go to rejuvenate. In the mid-nineteen forties Rudolf Von Hoevenberg opened "The Farm on the Hill", which was the first honeymoon resort in the Poconos. In the late 40's & the 50's an increasing number of area resorts began to target honeymooners. To this day, the Poconos are still a popular place for honeymooners.
